Over 130 years ago, a small group of Manly families came together to build a church - a church who would honour and glorify God, encourage and challenge its members in their faith and serve the Northern Beaches community.
In all those years, through two changes of century, through depression and wars and the dawn of the technological age, this aim has not wavered. We are still a group of diverse people who are searching for and finding our purpose in glorifying our amazing God. We are people who are saved and being saved by His grace and loving and encouraging each other to live life for Jesus.
Whilst we have a long and rich tradition of worship, we are quite a simple, no-frills, bible believing, Christian church. We are on a journey of revitalisation and growth towards being a dynamic multi-generational, multi-cultural community of genuine believers who come together on Sundays to worship the one true God. We are a church which is seeking to love and worship God in a way that is relevant to the contemporary community of Manly and surrounds. We want to concentrate on the basics of what makes a church family - real relationships, caring for each other and examining the bible together so that we can better know Jesus.
There are plenty of opportunities to join with us and use your gifts and talents missionally for the glory of God. Perhaps your in a big church and feel that sometimes you get a bit lost in the crowd, or you find that your area of ministry is already crowded with "talent" and there's not really a spot for you to contribute. That won't be a problem here. We believe all who have been called to be part of the body of Christ have a place to fill in building His church. That being said we are certainly not into burdening people, and if you've being burnt out or getting towards that in ministry in the past there is certainly a place for you here at Manly Presbyterian church to rest and recover and rediscover the Joy of the Lord.
We're certainly not a perfect church, and this side of eternity we never will be. We're continually amazed that God uses imperfect people like us in his plans. You are or course welcome to come and worship with us at 9:45am any Sunday.
